Asus 1201N Review
The ASUS 1201N is considered to be a slim and long device that has something common with the Asus EeeePC 1101HA in terms of the appearance. It is made of shiny plastic. The netbook comes in black and silver color. So if you want to avoid fingerprint on your new device, it is better to choose the silver one. It weights 3.2 pounds that is lighter compared to other 12-inch netbooks.
The 1201N is equipped with a 12-inch widescreen that supports the resolution of 1,366-by-768 pixels which is considered to be higher than found on a 10-inch netbook. It comes with a full size keyboard that is based on an island-style format.
With the help of an Nvidia chipset, you are able to use an HDMI port that lets you to stream HD content to an external flat panel. Moreover, the device boasts of three USB ports, the 250GB hard drive, Ethernet port, media card reader, and Webcam as well that are regarded as standard netbook features.
The netbook is powered with a dual core Atom processor which means that it is based on two physical processor cores due to which a user gets an improved performance of the netbook. Furthermore, it includes 2GB of RAM that is really impressive. The netbook has a two-fold ION chipset made by Nvidia.
But still there is the only concession, i.e. battery life of the netbook. Equipped with the fastest Atom processor and having an Nvidia platform, the 1201N offers only a 63WH battery that drained after 4 hours 20 minutes of work time. But we should not forget that there are netbook users who will be satisfied with this battery life. It is a excellent netbook that is available for $484 and will be ideal for sophisticated netbook users that need extra burst of speed.
